Nicely Made in China Partners screen shot.

It’s over a year now since Nicely Made in China (NMiC) was launched! We are happy to report that its success, so far, continues to both please and surprise us. In 14 months, we have interviewed and introduced almost 50 producers/service providers.  The site has had over 39,000 unique visitors and over 115,000 pages have been viewed.  All this is helping to establish Nicely Made in China as a strong brand and a viable business.

As proof of our growing strength, we continuously receive requests from company owners wanting to become part of the NMiC family or wanting to find reliable service and product providers in China. In response to this demand we have created a new area within the NMiC site,  (http://partners.nicelymadeinchina.com) where Nicely Made in China partners will be able to generate their own content  - subject to review by NMiC - for a fee.

In this section, you will find a wider range of products and services, of particular interest, we believe, to the small and medium sized businesses amongst our readers – services such as translation, business centres and logistics.  We will screen the companies with the same thoroughness that we have applied so far. And in keeping with our personable approach, we will introduce one company at a time, slowly building a valuable directory of companies providing premium quality products and services from China.

First off, we are delighted to introduce Ms Josephine Lau who presents Centre O Business Centre based in Hong Kong and Serge Pierrard who runs the Beijing-based Travel Stone travel agency.

Culture and adventure holidays are now relatively common in China. But if you’re looking for something off-the-beaten-track, where knowledgeable and reliable guides are paramount, there are fewer options. Nicely Made in China (NMiC) has found such a team for you!  They are called Red Rock, and are based in Dali, in the heart of Yunnan, a favourite region of China amongst those in the know. NMiC had a fascinating chat with Australia-born Mancunian Ed Jocelyn, a Long March scholar, and one of the two founders of Red Rock. He talks about rediscovering ancient tea and horse trails, the differences between mules and horses, and speaking Mandarin with a Yunnan accent. Read the rest of this entry »

BURNT ORINGE – BED LINEN

After a long day at the office or a night out on the town, what could be better than slipping into clean cool sheets? ‘Nothing!’ According to Tarynn Hatton-Jones, Nicely Made in China’s (NMiC) guest this week. She arrived from Johannesburg, South-Africa, a few years ago as a banker and very quickly felt a higher calling: providing her fellow human beings with what she believes is the best thing in life.  So she created Burnt Oringe, a luxury bed linen company.
