Goodbye 2011, hello 2012!

2011 has been an eventful year for Nicely Made in China. 51,000 people visited the website to read our stories on quality Chinese products: watches, travel, carpets, porcelain, yak wool knitwear, children’s clothes, outdoor equipmenthigh end design, handbags and more.

2011 has also been a year of firsts for Nicely Made in China: we received our first mention on the CNNGo website, we registered our first e-commerce sales, we launched our Expert’s page, put our first video online (thank you Jade & Ali), featured our first recycled products and published our first article in German and we reached the 500 fans mark on our Facebook page.

This end-of-year message would not be complete without thanking our loyal sponsors who continue to support us, and just like us, believe that quality products and services can indeed be found in China. So, we would like to thank very specially our favorite travel agent Travel Stone, the luxury bed linen maker Rouge-Baiser, the Hong Kong business centre CentreO, the Hong Kong French bookstore Parenthèses, the publisher Primary Mandarin, and lastly our first and oldest sponsor, the international mover and pet relocator Links Moving.

We wish you all a very happy Christmas, and a prosperous and healthy 2012.

Nicely Made in China Partners screen shot.

It’s over a year now since Nicely Made in China (NMiC) was launched! We are happy to report that its success, so far, continues to both please and surprise us. In 14 months, we have interviewed and introduced almost 50 producers/service providers.  The site has had over 39,000 unique visitors and over 115,000 pages have been viewed.  All this is helping to establish Nicely Made in China as a strong brand and a viable business.

As proof of our growing strength, we continuously receive requests from company owners wanting to become part of the NMiC family or wanting to find reliable service and product providers in China. In response to this demand we have created a new area within the NMiC site,  (http://partners.nicelymadeinchina.com) where Nicely Made in China partners will be able to generate their own content  - subject to review by NMiC - for a fee.

In this section, you will find a wider range of products and services, of particular interest, we believe, to the small and medium sized businesses amongst our readers – services such as translation, business centres and logistics.  We will screen the companies with the same thoroughness that we have applied so far. And in keeping with our personable approach, we will introduce one company at a time, slowly building a valuable directory of companies providing premium quality products and services from China.

First off, we are delighted to introduce Ms Josephine Lau who presents Centre O Business Centre based in Hong Kong and Serge Pierrard who runs the Beijing-based Travel Stone travel agency.

ONE YEAR AGO…

Today is a very special day for Nicely Made in China. We are celebrating NMiC’s first birthday! Exactly one year ago the NMiC website appeared on the world wide web! A website presenting quality products and services made in China was still a fairly new concept one year ago. On that day -April 22nd 2010- 9 unique visitors from France, China and Australia found their way to our newly born website. At first, when explaining what the website was about, we were getting the « quality products in China? Do they exist? » usual look but disbelief quickly turned into real interest for the people and the products that we featured: from Suren handbags to Norlha yak wool shawls, from Nicolas Favard’s exquisite jewelery to Red Dragon yachts, from Shanghai Trio finely embroidered products Read the rest of this entry »
